Equipment

  • large pot
  • large skillet

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta (penne or fettuccine)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream. Stir to combine, allowing the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes until it begins to thicken.
  • Add grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning to the sauce. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce is creamy.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Cook for another minute to heat through.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt, pepper, or Italian seasoning if necessary.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley.
