Ingredients
  

French Onion Dip

  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 0.5 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 0.25 cup mayo
  • 1 tablespoon chives finely chopped

Additional Sub Ingredients

  • 1 large sub roll
  • 1 lettuce chopped
  • 1 tomatoes sliced
  • 1 onions sliced
  • 1 cucumbers sliced
  • sliced cheese of choice

Instructions
 

Cooking Instructions

  • In a cast iron skillet over med high heat, add the butter and let it melt.
  • Next add the onions and cook for 5-7 mins on med/low heat until it starts to become translucent.
  • Next add all the seasoning and cook the mixture down for another 3-5 mins. Take it off the stove and let it cool down for a bit.
  • In a bowl mix the sour cream and mayo. Add the onion mixture followed by the chives. Mix everything together until it’s well combined. You can serve as is or place in a airtight container in the fridge and serve it with some potato chips!

Assembling the Sub

  • Slice the sub roll down the middle, layer on the sliced cheese and toast for a couple mins or until the cheese has melted.
  • Next add a good layer of the French onion dip, followed by the veggies. Enjoy!

Notes

You can make this sandwich using any bread of choice, but I highly recommend you toast the bread. Left over dip can be used to serve with potato chips, seriously is the best chips and dip because the dip can be served cold or room temperature.
