Equipment

  • large skillet

Ingredients

Beef Steaks

  • 2 pieces ribeye or sirloin steaks about 1 inch thick

Seasoning and Oil

  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Cream Sauce

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup Irish whiskey
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Cooking Steps

  • Generously season both sides of the steaks with salt and black pepper.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add the seasoned steaks to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Remove from the pan and let rest.
  • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Carefully pour in the Irish whiskey, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for another 3-5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Return the steaks to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them to coat well. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
