Equipment

  • Blender like Blendtec

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoon black tea
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 medium-sized mangoes approx 350 grams of pulp
  • 3 to 4 tablespoon lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoon sugar or sweetener of your choice
  • ice cubes as required

Instructions

  • Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil. Transfer the hot water to a pitcher and add the black tea. Let it steep for 5 to 7 minutes. Strain the tea and refrigerate it for an hour or two.
  • Add the brewed tea, lemon/lime juice, fresh mango pulp, and ice cubes into the blender.
  • Blend them well and check for sweetness. Add sugar, honey, agave nectar, or any sweetener you choose and blend again.
  • Transfer to serving glasses or to a pitcher and refrigerate. Serve this mango tea chilled, and add more ice cubes before serving.

Notes

If the mangoes are sweet, you might not need sugar or sweetener. You can use honey, agave nectar, maple syrup, or coconut sugar. Adjust sugar according to taste. Don't brew the tea for 10 minutes unless doing a cold brew. Steeping the tea for longer in hot water makes it slightly bitter. You can use green tea or a mix of green and black tea instead of black tea.
