Ingredients
  

Chicken and Seasoning

  • 6 pieces boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoon salted butter divided

Sauce

  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon ground thyme
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger

Cooking Steps

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season with salt and black pepper.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of salted butter in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken thighs and sear for 4-5 minutes per side until deeply golden. Remove chicken to a plate.
  • Reduce heat slightly and add the remaining 1 tablespoon butter to the skillet. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Remove skillet from heat. Whisk in honey, soy sauce, ground thyme, and ground ginger until smooth.
  • If the sauce feels too thick, whisk in 1 tablespoon warm water or chicken broth.
  • Return the chicken thighs to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top.
  • Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • Spoon extra sauce over the chicken and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Sear the chicken well for best flavor and caramelization. Chicken thighs are juicier than breasts and harder to overcook. For extra sauce, double honey, soy sauce, and garlic. Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken is done at 165°F.
