Equipment

  • Skillet

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds fresh green beans cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 4 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, melt butter. Add green beans; cook, stirring constantly, over high heat until slightly blistered, 2-3 minutes.
  • Whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper. Pour over green beans. Continue cooking and stirring until beans are coated and the sauce starts to evaporate slightly, 2-3 minutes.

Notes

I used fresh green beans. You can substitute 3 cans of green beans, drained. If using frozen, use two pounds of thawed green beans. Adjust red pepper flakes to your preference. Can add ginger to the sauce. Use gluten-free soy sauce for a gluten-free dish. Can add chicken or shrimp to make this a one-pan main dish.
