Ingredients
  

Bread

  • 6 slices baguette

Toppings

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.5 clove garlic sliced
  • 1.5 cups cherry tomatoes halved or 1 large tomato, cut into chunks
  • salt to taste
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 to 3 leaves basil ripped or chopped
  • balsamic glaze or balsamic vinegar for serving (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Drizzle each bread slice with olive oil on each side. Grill on medium-high heat until toasted.
  • Rub each slice with half clove garlic for aroma and flavor.
  • In a bowl, mix tomatoes with salt, minced garlic, basil, and olive oil. Top each bread slice with tomatoes.
  • Optionally drizzle with balsamic glaze or vinegar. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

Toast the bread in the oven at 400F for 15 to 20 minutes, or under the broiler for 2 to 6 minutes. This appetizer is best enjoyed fresh.
